Waiting In Vain

“Am I crazy for believing God is going to heal me?” Is that you or have you ever had that thought? In truth, that’s many of us and any of us at different times - especially if it’s been a while. I know it’s been me.

I remember days so heavy with pain, depression, and waiting… Waiting for what, I didn’t know. I only knew I was waiting. Days, months, even years so dark that I’d nearly forgotten what light looked like.

Until it showed up again.

“Am I crazy for believing God is going to heal me?”

In that time, I’ve learned something: Wondering or asking the question is not a reflection of faith. It’s the setup to one helluva story you’d never be able to write on your own.

And I’ve learned something else: God isn’t looking for “perfect-faithers”. He’s looking for people who can’t do it (given up is even better!) and who have just enough guts and humility to ask Him; just enough patience and willingness to wait for Him to prove that He’ll do it. And He will.
